From The Royal Hotel, it is just a few minutes walk down to Ventnor seafront, where you can enjoy the sand and shingle beach, or sample refreshments at the cafes and ice cream parlours along the Esplanade. To the west lies the picturesque beach of Steephill Cove, and above it sprawls the beautiful Botanic Gardens. In the opposite direction, the charming hamlet of Bonchurch beckons, with its ancient church and handsome Victorian villas. Further afield, choose from family friendly outings or foodie destinations, try a new activity or visit a working farm, discover the island’s heritage or unravel its ancient past.
There are some great places to visit on the Isle of Wight, each with their very own unique character and heritage. Whilst you won’t be able to fit everything into a single visit, we’ve highlighted some of the great attractions to visit.
