Senior Sous Chef

Head Chef Jon-Paul Charlo is looking to recruit an outstanding Senior Sous Chef to join his talented team of chefs.
Do you have the positive, can-do attitude required to work in one of the Islands most renowned kitchens?

This exciting opportunity is open to an experienced and talented Senior Sous Chef who can lead and inspire others with their exceptional culinary skills and knowledge.  You will need to have:

  • at least 4-5 years experience working in a kitchen with 2 rosettes or above in a management position
  • experience of managing a team of 12 or more chefs
  • strong leadership and development skills to train and inspire others
  • excellent knowledge of local fresh food dishes with creative new ideas for the menu
  • good financial acumen and understanding of menu costings and budgets
  • ability to run a kitchen and maintain consistency on the Head Chef's days off
  • knowledge and experience of maintaining and updating a working Food Safety Management System based on HACCP
  • a strong desire to succeed, influence and learn

You will be part of the senior managment team, reporting directly to the Head Chef.  In return, we will develop you and increase your food knowledge, and teach you a wide range of skills.

Maintenance Manager

The Royal Hotel is a beautiful, characteristic Victorian building and we are looking for a dedicated and passionate Maintenance Manager to take care of our infrastructure.

A broad experience in electrics, plumbing, carpentry, decorating and building work is essential in order to maintain the hotel and grounds to a high standard.  Gardening experience would be preferable.  You will also be responsible for managing a small maintenance team, sub-contractors, working with a design team on refurbishment projects, ensuring health and safety laws and regulations are adhered to and completing any maintenance administration work.

Your working hours will be 45 hours per week and you must be available for emergency callouts.  
An excellent salary of £25,000 - £32,000 is available subject to experience.  Attractive staff benefits package also included.

Full time Receptionist required 

We are looking for an experienced Hotel Receptionist with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Providing a warm welcome to our guests, you must be able to anticipate their needs and exceed their expectations.

Working in a high pressured environment, you will be responsible for taking room, restaurant and event reservations and should be able to work in a calm, organised and professional manner. You must be a confident communicator and strong administration and computer skills are essential.
