The Isle of Wight has an active and innovative drama scene, with a number of highly experienced and enthusiastic actors performing at theatres across the Island.

Medina Theatre lies at the heart of the Island in Newport and presents a range of shows including touring opera productions, comedians, local orchestral groups and productions for children.

Shanklin Theatre is a traditional, characterful theatre which was constructed in the late 1800s. The theatre puts on regular productions from local theatre groups and touring shows by well-loved comedians, musical acts and dancers.

Catch award winning comedians and a variety of other performers at Ventnor Exchange which hosts an innovative theatre space as well as a craft beer bar. In Summer this venue also becomes the central information point for the Ventnor Fringe Festival.

The Quay Arts in Newport is home to the Minghella Theatre, named after one of the Island’s finest exports, Oscar-winning film director, Anthony Minghella. The theatre hosts a wide range of shows and events, from talks and local stage productions to comedians and musicians.
