Afternoon Tea is served in our conservatory and brasserie. Our Royal Afternoon Tea* includes finger sandwiches, cakes, patisseries and scones at £29 per person or choose to add some sparkle with our Champagne Afternoon Tea* at £41 per person.

*Booking is essential and a minimum of 24 hours notice is required when booking afternoon tea.

Her Majesty, Queen Victoria, was a regular guest at The Royal and would often indulge in sandwiches, cakes and tea around 4pm, with her friends in the hotel’s beautiful gardens. This simple yet refined tradition would later evolve into what we now know as the quintessential afternoon tea, a custom now enjoyed across Britain and beyond.
In addition to our full afternoon tea offering, you can drop in for our Traditional English Cream Tea including freshly baked scones, home-made strawberry jam, clotted cream and a choice of artisan herbal or black teas. Or treat yourself to an afternoon pick-me-up with our special Cake o’Clock option: a slice of your favourite cake and barista-made coffee. These items are served 3-5pm, subject to availability on the day.
