The Royal Hotel is seeking a Duty Manager to join our talented team on the Isle of Wight’s leading four-star hotel, proud to have won awards for it's outstanding service and has held 2 AA Rosettes for excellent food for 30 consecutive years. What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Duty Manager or an experienced Supervisor looking to take the next step, who is passionate for delivering the highest level of service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, and be resilient in delivering the best experience to our clientele. Someone who can bring an enthusiastic and driven attitude to the team and inspire us to work to the best of our ability each day, whilst leading by example and adopting a hands-on approach. To ensure you can assist the management with the day to day running of the business, daily duties to include;

  • Supporting and communicating effectively with all departments of the hotel.
  • Working with senior management on the day-to-day running of the business.
  • Scheduling shifts and monitoring staffing levels.
  • Supporting the complete management team with HR issues.
  • Resolving customer queries and grievances in a professional manner.
  • Ensuring that the restaurant adheres to pertinent health and safety regulations.
  • Running morning, afternoon and evening services.

The Royal Hotel is seeking chefs, Commis to Sous, to join our talented kitchen team at the Island’s premier 4 Silver Star luxury hotel. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef to work in a dynamic and structured kitchen, preparing exciting dishes to our 2 AA Rosette standard.

About Geranium Restaurant

The Geranium Restaurant at The Royal Hotel has proudly held 2 AA Rosettes for over 30 years. The restaurant has also won a Beautiful South Restaurant of the Year Award for 4 consecutive years and has recently been nominated for a Visit England Award. Our dishes are highly praised by critics, including a 5-star rating from Matt and Cat’s Eating Out Guide. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a willingness to learn and hone their culinary skills using some of the best ingredients. We have a proven track record of developing a chef’s skills and abilities. We will expand your food knowledge and teach you a wide range of skills which will set you on your way in this industry.

Please note the ideal candidate will have 3 or more years experience as a chef/in a kitchen based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes using the finest seasonal and locally sourced produce.
  • Execute high-quality banquets and weddings for up to 150 guests.
  • Assist the Head Chef, Jacob Gough, in developing seasonal menus and dishes.
  • Ensure you and your team uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and sanitation regulations.
  • Work five days out of seven, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

We are looking for front of house staff to work in our restaurant and food service areas. The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and can work effectively within a team as well as independently. Experience is beneficial, however full training will be given so is not essential. The Royal is well-known for training its staff and is a valuable stepping stone for a successful future career in hospitality. We value team work and a family-style culture, and we are looking for the right people who are looking to be a part of our Royal family.
