Built in 1832, The Royal is the Island’s premier four-star hotel and shares the rare privilege of being one of only 30 establishments to be listed in every Michelin Guide since it was first published in 1911. The Royal was also the first hotel on the Island to achieve Four Stars, AA rating and has held 2 AA Rosettes for excellent food for over 25 consecutive years.

SENIOR CHEF DE PARTIES

Your chance to become part of Team Royal

The Royal Hotel Ventnor is the leading Premier four-star hotel on the Isle of Wight and we are looking for Chef de Parties to join our growing family of great chefs.

If you would like to join an enthusiastic team, working with fine food at two AA rosette standard, then we would love to hear from you. This is your chance to work with a highly motivated and experienced team who are continually moving forwards to reach the next level. The Royal creates exceptional dining experiences using the best ingredients locally or from afar to match our ever-growing high standards.

Our Head Chef Ben, has a wealth of experience from Michelin Star restaurant, Bohemia in Jersey with Shaun Rankin, as well as Alex Aitken at The Harbour Hotel Group before taking on Head Chef for three years at The Hut in Colwell Bay on the Isle of Wight. Ben will create a personalised progression plan, involve you in menu creation and you will have the chance to visit our suppliers to learn more about the ingredients we work with.

This position is a permanent role in a business that operates all year round. Summer is our busiest period, however we enjoy a fruitful Christmas, New Year and Winter event season. Our award-winning food attracts local visitors to enjoy staycations during the winter months as well as the summer.

Rate of pay: £26,000 + tips

BAR AND RESTAURANT TEAM MEMBERS

Rates of pay:
£10.00 per hour for fully trained and experienced Bar/Restaurant Staff
Above minimum wage for those that are new or are still learning their craft in the industry
All staff receive a share of the tips paid out annually (full-time - average £1000.00 per year)

Working hours will be predominantly during the peak season (May-September), including weekends and bank holidays however employment is available 12 months of the year including the festive season with variable hours available during the winter months. Shift patterns vary as we can serve up to 300 covers a day in the peak months over breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Prior experience of working in the hospitality sector is preferable, but not essential. It is crucial to be smart, well-groomed with a positive attitude. We take service very seriously - in fact we believe it is an art form.

Join our Front Office Team

We are looking to recruit an experienced Hotel Receptionist to complement and expand our existing team at the Isle of Wight's premier 4-star hotel. The Royal is renowned for its excellent customer service, having previously won the Chamber of Commerce award for Excellence in Customer Service. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, demonstrate a flair for delivering a fantastic customer experience, be able to anticipate customer needs and exceed their expectations. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with guests throughout their stay, taking reservations, handling the front office administration and should have the following key skills:

  • excellent attention to detail
  • calm and organised worker
  • well presented with a professional manner
  • confident communicator
  • strong administration and computer skills
  • cash handling experience
  • excellent level of written and spoken English
  • previous experience in a similar customer facing role, preferably within a hotel environment

We have seasonal part time positions in our housekeeping department.

Rate of pay: Competitive rates + tips
