ISLAND ROADS – CARRIAGEWAY RECONSTRUCTION
Island Roads will be undertaking carriageway reconstruction works in Binstead Road week commencing 5 January 2026 for approximately 20 working days and again week commencing 13 April 2026 for approximately 10 working days.
Customers are advised to allow extra time to reach our Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour FastCat or Fishbourne to Portsmouth car ferry service during these periods.

At The Royal we have one car park located opposite the front of the hotel, as well as a second car park to the rear of the hotel, and 6 additional spaces in the rear car park with EV charge points. To view a list of all EV charging points on the Island, Click Here.
If you are a blue badge holder, there are limited VIP spaces in the entrance drive of the hotel. Please book this in advance if required. Blue badges must be on display.
On the rare occasion that our Car Park is full, there is free roadside parking along Park Avenue, just a short distance from the hotel.
We work closely with both Red Funnel and Wightlink, to ensure that our guests are able to travel to us from all directions and at the best rates possible.
Many of our Dinner, Bed and Breakfast packages are inclusive of return car ferry.

Travel By Southern Vectis Bus
The nearest bus stops in either direction is on Park Avenue, outside the Hotel. (Less than 1 minute walk West) The bus stop is 0.04 miles from Royal Hotel. Buses to this stop are the number 6. This route ends at Newport Bus Station via Whitwell, Niton, Chale, Chillerton. For the majority of routes you will need to catch a number 3 bus from St Catherines Church. (A 4 minute walk East) The bus stop is 0.20 miles from Royal Hotel. This route ends at Newport Bus Station via Rookley, Godshill, Wroxall, Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown, Ryde Bus Station.
If traveling from Wightlink FastCat terminal in Ryde, catch the number 3.
If traveling from RedJet terminal in Cowes, catch the number 1 to Newport, then change to either number 6 or number 3 buses.
