The Steam Railway Proms @ Isle of Wight Steam Railway

Enjoy a summers afternoon at the Railway as the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra take over for the afternoon.

Bring a blanket or pop-up chair as you settle in the Park for an evening of exquisite music. Pack a picnic or enjoy something from one of the onsite refreshment outlets.

The concert starts at 3pm – bring your own seating. Picnics are welcome or visit our on-site bar and café.

Programme to include –
Nicolai – Overture to the Merry Wives of Windsor
Dvorak – Slavonic dances (by the way, Dvorak loved trains)!
Williams – Theme to Jurassic Park
Sullivan – Pineapple Poll Suite (includes the famous tunes from his operettas)
Railway related pieces
White – Puffin’ Billy
Rodney Bennett – waltz from Murder on the Orient Express
Sherman Bros. – Selection from Mary Poppins
and of course all the traditional patriotic proms favourites.

Audience participation is encouraged. This is a fun programme for the whole family.
