A Ventnor local, Jade began her career waitressing at The Met on Ventnor seafront at the young age of 14, where she was trusted with responsibilities such as stock ordering.
Her next job was working in Carnabies, an 80’s cafe in Ventnor, where she really enjoyed interacting with guests and regulars and building relationships.
At the age of 17 Jade then went to work at the Smoking Lobster on Ventnor seafront. Whilst here, she also took a Beauty apprenticeship at the Isle of Wight Collage and the Beauty Salon in Cowes.
Taking after her Dad, Jade has become a part of our family here at the Royal, and a friendly face that many of our Loyal Royals will recognise.
Her Dad, Chris, who is the Night Porter, advised Jade that The Royal would be the perfect place for her to develop her hospitality career.
Since joining at 18 in the Cocktail Bar, Jade has progressed and taken many responsibilities, and completed a month of Management training.
Her responsibilities now include, Stock Ordering, Cocktail Mixology and Barista of Coffees, General maintenance, Beer Line and Barrel cleaning, machinery and surface cleaning.
Her favourite part about working in The Royal’s Bar is speaking and meeting new people, and she loves helping people. Jade will always have a smile on her face, politely greet guests and offer to assist in any way she can.
Jade enjoys her days here, “it’s never lonely, there’s loads of nice people and never a dull moment.”
Jade won our 'Rising Star Of The Year' award 2023, showing a world of potential for a promising future here. She consistently goes the extra mile to welcome guests and her colleagues, learning new skills and being dedicated to her role, ensuring that the bar is running smoothly.
Her natural skill for pairing flavours and mixing cocktails and mocktails is fantastic.
Jade aspires to travel and see the world whilst continuing her hospitality career.
Eventually her goal is to own a Restaurant or Cocktail bar much like her Mum had in the past.
Fun Fact: Jade isn’t to be messed with. She trains in Boxing and has been frequenting the gym for the last 3 years. Her philosophy; Look good, feel good, and feel good mentally.
