Thank you for choosing to stay at The Royal.  We are looking forward to welcoming you to the hotel very soon.

Our check-in time is from 3.00pm and check out is 11.00am.   

We have included some information on this page to help you enjoy your stay with us to the full.  If you have any questions or we can be of any assistance prior to your arrival please do not hesitate to contact our reservations team on 01983 852186.


How to Find us?

The Isle of Wight is a short ferry crossing from the mainland and ferries run throughout the day.

If we have not already made your ferry arrangements for you, we can arrange ferry travel from either Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington. Please call us on 01983 852186 for more details.

The Royal is located in Ventnor on the southern tip of the Island.  By car follow the A3055 coastal road or the B3327 into Ventnor town centre.  In the town centre turn left at the traffic lights into Church Street.  At the top of the hill (church on the right), turn left into Belgrave Road.  The Royal is located at the end of Belgrave Road on the right hand side. 

Our postcode is PO38 1JJ.

Two car parks are available on site and parking is free of charge.  Please feel free to use the main driveway when unloading luggage on arrival and departure.


Dining at The Royal Hotel

Breakfast is served daily from 7.45am until 9.45am.

Our restaurant is open for dinner from 6.45pm (6.30pm during the summer) with last orders at 8.45pm.  Dinner reservations are essential throughout your stay and we advise that these are made prior to your arrival.

Our dress code for dinner is smart but casual.  No shorts or sportswear please.


Hotel Information

Smoking Policy: Please note that all of the bedrooms are non-smoking.  A charge of £100.00 will be applied in the event of this policy being breached.

Pets: Dogs are permitted in selected room types only by prior arrangement and a nightly charge will be made.  Dogs are not permitted in any of the food service areas of the hotel.

Internet: Complimentary WiFi is available in the bedrooms and the downstairs public areas (excluding the restaurant).

Leisure and Wellbeing:
Our outdoor heated swimming pool is open from May to September (weather permitting).  Pool towels are provided.
In conjunction with The Cabin, we offer a range of marine inspired treatments in our hotel treatment room.  For details of treatments available or to book an appointment please contact the cabin on 01983 629179.


Cancellation and Payment Terms

When you book any holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract. If you have to cancel or cut short your holiday for whatever reason, then you will be liable for any cancellation charges we may have to make.  In your best interests, we strongly recommend you take out travel insurance to safeguard your holiday.

Direct Bookings: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all reservations.
Our cancellation charges (excluding Christmas and New Year) are as follows:
50% charge if cancelled within 7 days of arrival date
100% charge if cancelled on day of arrival or in the event of a no-show

Direct Bookings Christmas and New Year: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all reservations, with full pre-payment due by 1 December.
Our cancellation charges for Christmas and New Year are as follows:
50% charge if cancelled within 3 months of arrival date
100% charge if cancelled within 1 month of arrival date or in the event of a no-show

Online Travel Agent Bookings: Full pre-payment is required to secure all reservations at the time of booking.
Our cancellation charges (excluding Christmas and New Year) are as follows:
100% charge if cancelled within 30 days of arrival or in the event of a no-show
