Please head to our main station at Havenstreet where there is a large FREE car park with spaces for cars, motorcycles, motorhomes and coaches. We also have two charging points for electric vehicles.
Enter PO33 4DS into your Satnav or head for Havenstreet (3 miles from Ryde and 3 miles from Newport) and look for road signs to Havenstreet or brown signs showing the Steam Railway.
Please note that there is no vehicle or pedestrian access to Smallbook Junction station.

Experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of over 150 years of railway history. Inside, you will find displays of our Victorian and Edwardian carriages alongside a collection of our rare rolling stock, all preserved undercover and protected from the elements, allowing us more time to spend on restoring other historic vehicles.
The Museum
See up-close a whole host of items from the Railway’s history including nameplates and maker’s plates from some of the earliest locomotives to run on the Island.
The Barn Café is open every day serving drinks and hot and cold snacks.
The restaurant opens at 11am till 3 pm for hot food and closes at 4pm on most days.
We prepare a great selection of main dishes each day; there’s always vegetarian and vegan options available.
There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating – our covered terrace overlooking the playground is a popular option.
Our T-Junction kiosk serves freshly brewed coffee, drinks and snacks. Conveniently situated outside our Train Story Discovery Centre, its a great spot to watch the trains departing.
Our Ice Cream kiosk is open most days and serves tea, coffee, soft drinks, hot and cold snacks and soft serve ice creams. There’s lots of outdoor seating nearby – why not grab a coffee and sit in the station garden watching the trains go by?
During busier days and warmer months, the Ice Cream Parlour is open selling a range of flavours from Island-based Minghella ice cream.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway and The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust have joined together to install an exciting addition at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
Nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers will be thrilled to learn about the unveiling of a new squirrel hide in the heart of Havenstreet. It has been a joint project between both charities and the hide blends seamlessly into the woodland and visitors will be delighted to see our native Red Squirrels from the sheltered hide.
