We are delighted to finally share some exciting news we have been keeping under wraps…
The Royal Hotel, Ventnor were happy to be a major part of hosting the show on the island with many key island businesses participating.
The Isle of Wight episode of The Apprentice airs 19/03/26 21:00 on BBC.
The episode will be available on BBC iPlayer from Thursday at 9pm, and sees the candidates travel to the Island to take on a uniquely local challenge: sourcing nine iconic Isle of Wight items at the best possible prices for Lord Alan Sugar.
During filming, we had the pleasure of welcoming Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE to stay with us at The Royal.
As one of the Island’s most historic and distinguished hotels, it was a privilege to provide not only accommodation, but also to support production by hosting the Central Production Facility within one of our meeting rooms, a new and exciting use of our space.
Guests and viewers alike will recognise the unique charm that makes The Royal so special, from our subtropical seaside setting in Ventnor to our award-winning dining and rich local heritage.
This opportunity was also a fantastic moment for the Isle of Wight as a whole, showcasing the Island to a national audience.
Our Director of Marketing, and Visit Isle of Wight Board member, Matthew Brooks, reflects:
“We were delighted to host Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE of The Apprentice during filming on the Isle of Wight, and to provide the Central Production Facility for the team, which was a new use for one of our meeting rooms. Securing the filming of one of the most popular TV shows on the island was a big win by Visit Isle of Wight and we thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Visit Isle of Wight on it. Certainly, the most difficult part has been keeping the role of the island and of The Royal secret for 9 months!”
Matthew will also be speaking on BBC Radio Solent at 3:10pm on 20th March, sharing more about what it was like to play such an key role, participating in hosting the show on the Isle of Wight
We are incredibly proud to have played a part in such a well-loved programme and to showcase both The Royal and the Isle of Wight to a wider audience.
At The Royal, we continue to celebrate the very best of the Isle of Wight, from its culture and character to its timeless appeal as a place to escape, unwind and enjoy.
