Yesterday evening (Thursday 17th December), the team from the Royal Hotel in Ventnor, visited St Mary’s Hospital in Newport baring festive treats. Head Chef, Ben Chamberlain and his team spent the day preparing one hundred Festive Feasts and one hundred mince pies for NHS Staff working the evening and night shift.
The special delivery included a delicious Christmas Turkey (and Vegetarian) Roast, including all the trimmings, cranberry gravy, and a Royal Mince Pie for dessert. To ensure every member of staff working that evening could access a complimentary meal, the Festive Feasts were delivered in individual containers, that could be reheated at any time during the evening for them to enjoy on their break.
Clare Ryan, Head of Marketing from the Royal Hotel said:
“We are so pleased to be able to share a little festive joy on the run up to Christmas for our wonderful NHS Staff at St Mary’s Hospital. They are a lifeline service for our Isle of Wight Community, and this is our small way of saying thank you. Ben and his team pulled together a really special Festive Feast which we hear went down exceptionally well with the staff.”
The Royal Hotel worked with ‘Meals for NHS’ who are providing front line NHS workers meals from local restaurants through the COVID crisis and WA Foods who very kindly donated the Turkey.
