Robin Hill Country Park is an 88-acre adventure park located in Downend; outside Newport, Isle of Wight. The park is built on the buried farmstead of Combley Roman Villa, which is featured in the 'Romans at Robin Hill' exhibition when at the park. Robin Hill is also noted for wildlife, particularly the red squirrels.
Discover 88 acres of exploration, adventure and entertainment at Robin Hill. For visitors of all ages looking for fun and outdoor adventure, join us for a great day out with family and friends.
A straight walk in the direction of Park Avenue will lead you to the 'Britain's Hottest Garden' Ventnor Botanic Garden, which also lies in our remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous ‘Undercliff.’ Indeed, it holds the warmth from its southerly aspect so well that, combined with the moderating influence of the sea, frost is rarely known.
Shown in representations of geographical regions, growing in association with each other as in the wild. Each garden presents an immersive experience where the visitor is transported to landscapes from around the world.
If you don't get to see our small Lizard residents (podarcis muralis) at The Royal, you certainly will at Ventnor Botanic Garden.

Needles Battery
Sitting high above the Needles at the very western tip of the Island, with bird’s-eye views of the Solent and unspoilt countryside, is the Needles Old Battery. A Victorian fort built in 1862 for a war that never took place, it became known as one of ‘Palmerston’s Follies’ after the politician that commissioned it, but was called into action during both World Wars.
The Battery’s multi-layered story is brought to life in a series of atmospheric rooms that show just what it was like to work here for Victorian gunners through to Second World War officers. Vivid cartoons by comic book artist Geoff Campion illustrate the part it played in the history of modern Britain too. On the Parade Ground stand two original guns, hauled up from the seas below where they were thrown years ago. Follow the underground tunnel as it twists and turns deep into the chalky cliffs and you’ll find a searchlight emplacement with views high above the Needles rocks and as far as Dorset on a clear day.
Further up the headland stands the New Battery. Here a small exhibition and a recreation of one of the rooms, reveals the astonishing and little-known story of Britain's Cold War 'race for space', when British-made rockets were tested here under conditions of great secrecy.
Set in the grounds of the Old Vicarage, the Model Village in Godshill, is a timeless place to escape the busy world outside.
As Kevin McCloud of Channel 4’s Grand Designs said “If you really do want to indulge in a uniquely Fifties Isle of Wight experience replete with bathing huts, vintage buses and a slower pace of life, then there is only one destination for you - Godshill Model Village”.

Our historic Brighstone venue is home to an unmissable collection of pearl jewellery, spectacular cliff-top views over the English Channel, a butterfly meadow, and a café where you enjoy delicious local delicacies all while visiting our beautiful island.
Our founder, Fred Scragg, saw how people love to treat themselves on holiday, so he decided to build something extraordinary that had never been seen before. He set out to give holidaymakers a wonderful reminder of their time on the Isle of Wight.
Fred had travelled the world in his previous life as an inventor-slash-engineer and had fallen in love with pearls. He saw exciting possibilities for his idea and so set up a pearl specialist business here.
In 1988, we opened the doors of Isle of Wight Pearl, and on the first day the car park was full of coaches and a queue stretched from the front door, all the way out to the main road.
