Isle of Wight Pride started in 2017, with the first pride parade on the Island on 15th July. The island also hosted UK Pride in 2018 after winning a competition to host the event, which moves around the UK each year.
The charity was formed on the principles of promoting equality and diversity for the public benefit, the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity, raising awareness to the public about the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of LGBTQIA+ people, cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity and staging an annual LGBTQIA+ festival.
As the focus point for the weekend, our colourful Pride Parade will return to the streets of Ryde on Saturday 19th July 2025.
Setting off at 11am from Ryde School, it follows a route through the town, down Union Street and finishing at our Pride Community Village.
All completed applications must be received by 1st July 2025. Whilst late applications may be considered, this is at the sole discretion of the organisers and is subject to there being available space.
