The luscious autumnal colours in the trees and the falling leaves are paving the way for a picture-perfect walk or scenic cycle.

Steephill Cove might just be the Isle of Wight’s best kept secret and is within walking distance of The Royal Hotel…. it's the perfect start to a family wander along the heritage coast. From Steephill Cove, rewarding and rural paths are just waiting to be explored. For more of the Island's best walking routes visit our blog.

For those guests who prefer to explore the Island on two wheels, Wight Cycle Hire can deliver electric bikes to The Royal, making your cycling adventures effortless and fun. We also offer safe overnight storage for anyone bringing their own bike.

Spooky Farm Fun & Pumpkin Patch at Tapnell Farm

19th October – 3rd November

This half term head over to Tapnell Farm in Yarmouth, for wicked tricks and treats designed to keep your little monsters happy, whatever the weather!

On Saturday 26th October the Little Monsters Ball returns to kick start pumpkin week! This year there’s two 'raves'; one in the morning and one in the afternoon – so grab your glow sticks, it's time to party with your little ones!

Festival of Light Inspired by Diwali at Robin Hill Country Park

Voted the BEST EVENT IN THE UK by Day Out With The Kids, this autumn, you can join the finale of Diwali at Robin Hill's award-winning electric woods, open from 6pm - 10pm on selected dates between 27th September – 2nd November.

Celebrating the finale of the vibrant Diwali theme, you’ll find yourself marvelling at the epic Electro-Light Circus, returning more intense than before, it’s sure to bring this event to a spectacular close! The incredible show featuring mind-boggling light tricks, acrobatics and circus skills is a must-see for visitors of all ages.

Fright Night at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway

31st October 2019

Dare you ride the 'Train of Fright'!? Head to the Steam Railway for a truly unique Halloween Fright Night Experience. Dress-up as witches, wizards and ghouls, or don your best Bride of Dracula or Beetlejuice costume.

Spooky Carisbrooke Castle with Creepy Critters

26th October – 3rd November

Grab your broomsticks for a bewitchingly brilliant day out at Carisbrooke Castle this Halloween half term. Get hands-on with creepy crafts and a wicked witch-themed quest. There’s a fancy dress competition every day - come in your best witch and wizard outfits to be in with a chance of winning. Plus, meet some amazing animals – including snakes, spiders and more – and learn all about these creepy crawly creatures.

Frights and Sprites at Blackgang Chine

19th October - 27th October

Frights & Sprites is Blackgang Chine’s newest Halloween family attraction. Rumpus Mansion’s ghostly characters will be causing mischief with their interactive performance, Rumpus Mansion LIVE, this October.

In this production, the ghouls are getting ready for Lady Edwina’s Spooktacular of the year. Take a tour around the mansion to meet the servants readying the halls for their many guests.

PLUS, don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for the pesky gremlins because they're up to no good! Spot them all and solve the anagram to enter the daily prize draw.
